A Standard Suburban ’70s House Turned Into a Romantic Retreat

Suburban '70s House Turned Into a Romantic Retreat

One of the things that matter most to a newly wedded couple is living in an appealing home. Luckily for one newly married couple Jeff and Sara Jones, their dream supposedly came true. Through the help of two interior design experts, Chip and Joanna, the couple now live in one charming home.

However, it wasn’t all glamorous at first. Chip and Joana transformed this suburban house of the 70s into a romantic getaway for the young couple. Located in the Mountainview neighborhood in Waco, TX, this home has been renovated to fit the taste and preference of the new owners.

Out Goes Dullness, In Comes Dynamism

It wouldn’t have been possible to imagine if a young couple rich in love would choose this 70s house as their first home in marriage. Nonetheless, the theme, style, textures, and décor were all blended elegantly to come up with one stunning home that has an appealing modern touch. The theme of the house is balanced with white walls in some rooms and gray in others.

Rustic Meets Modern

The designers of the house are lovers of the rustic theme, which is maintained in various sections around the house. For instance, they eliminated some walls to combine the dining area, living room, and kitchen in an open floor. This is a common style in most modern homes. Also, there is a blend of dark gray paneling that brings in a modern taste with the highlighted black/white marble floors. Most of the rooms feature a wood-look tile floor with a smooth texture.

Cozy and Romantic

Some furniture is included to deliver coziness to the whole house. For instance, two velvet studded sofas are placed in one corner of the living room, and there are also some thick brown leather couches. When you move on to the master bedroom, the young couple enjoys a super romantic space. Even though it features a classic metallic bed, there is an elegant bed cover with a thick mattress for extra coziness. Wall light fixtures are also included to make the room more appealing.

Bringing in The Outside

The designers of the home made it extra welcoming by integrating the outside feel in the house. There are various plants around the house including some colorful flowers and other green plants. The dining area also features a thick yard-like wooden table that gives the room a welcoming feel.

This house is a perfect example of how possible it is to turn a ruined house into a glamorous home. It features a blend of styles and themes, which contribute to its elegance. From the exterior of the house to the interior, it is super appealing, and well-lit to make it airy and welcoming too.
